This cours
e will demonstrate fundamental and innovative techniques used to create rea
listic texture and vanishing margins for a silicone facial prosthesis. Each
attendee will be provided with a materials list upon registering for the c
ourse. Participants will utilize a variety of tools (recommended by the ins
tructor) to accurately replicate wrinkle and pore patterns in a wax model,
which can be applied to a variety of facial prostheses. Participants will g
ain a better understanding of how to match appropriate skin textures to the
ir patients, as well as how to manipulate the mold base and wax sculpture t
o account for tissue mobility in order to minimize gapping and produce marg
ins that blend smoothly with surrounding tissue.
